"This suggests the surveillance infrastructure was planned long before any health emergency." I think it's worse. The 'health emergency' was created precisely to provide a pretext for rolling this tech out (amongst other nefarious purposes).

I was on a bus the other day when the bus was invaded by 20+ screaming children, average age 13yrs, interestingly the chaos went straight over my head, lol. As I sat there and looked around every child I saw was clutching a phone. I have often seen children in pushchairs clutching a phone, lol

There is a line I always remember, it is the Header of a short paper written some time back there, it goes "Children Learn what they live".

I myself have a Burner Nokia, calls, texts, anything else is done via PC +VPN. Its none of my business what others do, conversely its no others business what I do. I grew up in a time when this was respected.

Somewhere along the line People have to take responsibility for their own actions and the consequences, or does one blame one's Mother and Father, or maybe one's Grand Father for fighting a War on the wrong side, lol.

There is nothing wrong with Technology in and of itself, but the question should be asked is humanity mature enough to use Technology, ask the child on a bus if he/she knows what a "back door" is.
